Senator Roy Ashburn from California recently announced that he is gay. This is surprising to many since he is a fierce opponent of gay rights. He has continuously voted against proposed gay rights laws and said he did so in order to vote in a way his constituents wanted. Now he is being called a hypocrite.
Wait a minute here, let's back up. A hypocrite? I say great job, Senator.
What a novel idea... not voting the way YOU want, but voting the way your constituents would want you to vote. After all, these people elected him to office. Senator Ashburn is not a hypocrite, he is doing his JOB. More senators should do the same.
However, Senator Ashburn, not so good on your recent DUI arrest, not so good.
Moving on...
If I hear one more "I'm getting out of the way if there is a Toyota behind me" crack, I may just smack someone. It's not funny anymore. Especially KS at work who thinks it's hilarious to tell me that she isn't riding in my Camry anymore. Shush.
Yep, Toyota screwed up... but honestly the acceleration issue is rare and this means Toyota still has some of the safest vehicles on the road. It's not like others such as Ford, GM, etc. haven't had major recalls for safety issues. Since when does Toyota have to be the only car company that makes no mistakes? I think the media has blown this way out of proportion.

ReplyDeleteI was shocked when I found out Mr Ashburn is gay but doesnt vote for gay rights. Why isnt Perez Hilton jumping all over HIM? Im ok with gay marriage but what Perez did to that Carrie Prejean was cruel.
Secondofly, I LOVE TOYOTAS!! My boyfriend has a 2006 truck and while Im terrified to drive it, I want a Toyota car, too! I know its out of my reach but Ill still continue to dream...
